Atkins As Less Painful Diet for Candida

A friend has read about the Atkins diet, but maybe she missed something that she would like to ask about the diet. What she found was: her regular MD told her to cut out sugar and white flour. So, she switched to wheat bread and it was okay for about 10 days then everything went to hell! She is much worse than when she ate white bread, she believes. Now, once in a while, she has a bun or white bread. She can still eat dairy, but she is allergic to most nuts, and also to citrus fruits which makes it hard to make the salad dressings and such (with the lemon and lime). She is slowly finding what works and doesn’t for her. She just wants to know if there should be a quicker and less painful way to get rid of candida.

Basically, in Atkins diet, you follow the plan avoiding all types of sugar, even artificial sweeteners although Stevia seems to be fine. Avoid yeast and mold containing foods, beer, mushrooms, vinegar, soy sauce, fermented condiments, and things like sauerkraut, sour cream, peanuts, cashews, pistachios, and a few more. You can eat nitrate free bacon on occasions. I have macadamias, pecans, almonds, and hazelnuts for my nuts. I make nut butter, which is very easy with a blender or food processor. I eat all meats and fish, although I was having allergic reactions to shrimp. I no longer do and can eat it again now. I eat salads and veggies, eggs, cream cheese, mozzarella, and heavy cream. I eat very well and can taste the natural sweetness in foods like carrots and tomatoes for the first time ever in my life. Food has flavor! I am shopping more and more at organic health food stores, but many of the chain grocery stores are now selling some organic products.
